The Cypriot Gastronomy meets Turks and Greeks flavors. Several restaurants also serve dishes of Chinese, French, Indian, Italian. The chopped meat dishes are made with mint and other aromatics like celery, parsley, oregano, pepper. Vegetables such as carrots, pumpkin, cucumber, grape leaves, lettuce, okra, green beans and tomato accompany any dish. On the table are placed delicacies oriental style, like the national cheese halloumi , celery, green peppers, olives, vine leaves, tomatoes, chicken, fish eggs, octopus, shrimp, sausage, to eat with the bread. Main dishes: moussaka (layers of lamb chop) suflakia (kebabs with pork or lamb), avgolemoni (egg and lemon soup), Patcha (lamb cooked and served with lemon), kleftiko (roast lamb), keftedes (balls of meat with spices), koupes (fried beef patties wrapped in dough), and kattimeria (fine semolina pasta with beans, meat and cheese). Traditional non-alcoholic beverages are Turkish coffee and ayran (add water and salt and ice to yogurt, stir well and serve).
