Serra da Estrela, Portugal

A retrospective by the central massif of Serra da Estrela, where we are confronted with a diversity of landscapes and habitats that individualize the Serra da Estrela mountain ranges in the panorama of Portugal.
Just knowing the inside and just traversing stone by stone, we can really get soaked in its midst of natural and historic relics, so that we realize how multifaceted and rich is Serra da Estrela.
In winter, some roads are closed because of the snow. But your children will love it.
We intend to discover some chalenges to confirm, in the Serra da Estrela routes what Miguel Torga has written: "High, immense, enigmatic, aloof, mysterious, remote ..."
A visit to Manteigas would justify, itself, a trip to the Serra da Estrela. Unforgettable sights that water cascades and miradores offer, rich architecture visible in chapels, churches and village houses. And, in addition, one or more days of relaxation or outdooractivity that Casa das Penhas Douradas provides.
