Isabela Island

All of the islands are wildlife reserve administrated by the government of Ecuador and that is, since the visit of Charles Darwin, the main living biology laboratory of the world.
Of the 13 islands that form the Galapagos archipelago, four are inhabited.
The isolation of these volcanic islands led to the emergence of a specific and amazing wildlife. The Fragate, for example, during mating season, the male inflates its scarlet throat to attract females.

Puerto Villamil - Capital of the Canton of Isabela, is a small village on the island of the same name. Most inhabitants live on agriculture and fishing , but tourism is growing . It's a great place to hang out and relax on the beach or snorkelling. About 1000 KM separates the islands of Galapagos from Quito in Ecuador . There is at least a daily air connection.
