Mexican Gastronomy

In the region of what is now Mexico lived indigenous people Mayans, Toltecs and Aztecs , whose diet was based on corn, beans and some herbs. At this base, the Spanish conckerors, who violently dominated the territory in the sixteenth century added rice, beef and wine, among other products.
Once the area was dominated, the conquerors took to Mexico horses, pigs, cattle, chickens, oregano, parsley, cinnamon, pepper and other spices, and several vegetables and fruits.
The Quesadilla is a corn-based tortilla and cheese with beef, chicken or pork. The Chili is a spicy stew with meat, pepper, peppers, tomatoes, beans, onions, cumin, and other spices.
The culinary TEX / MEX is a mixt of traditions of Mexican cuisine with influences from American cuisine of the state of Texas, represented by Nachos, Crispy Tacos, Fajitas and Chili con Carne.
